The alternative and unofficial logo for the FA Cup - Outlined and filled in light grey. The FA Cup is a mammoth football tournament, as a total of 736 teams were accepted into the 2016/17 edition of the tournament.

Teams from many different parts of the United Kingdom take part in the FA Cup. This year's edition of the tournament, which is the 136th in its history, is scheduled to run from August 5th, 2016 until May 27th, 2016. Last season, Manchester United bested Crystal Palace in the final to take down the title.

Third Round Proper, which is taking place right now, is when we see teams from the Premier League and Football League Championship enter the tournament. This results in a mass culling of some of the weaker teams in the event, as we narrow down the field from 64 teams to just 32.

As you can imagine, the titans of the English Premier League, including the likes of Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd, are the current favourites to win the title. It can be a bit tricky handicapping this tournament, as the FA Cup is of considerably less importance than the English Premier League or Champions League. This is due to the significantly smaller amount of money that goes to the winner of the FA Cup, as compared to the EPL or Champions League. For this reason, many teams will scale back on the team that their star players play in the FA Cup, and for that reason, results can often be quite skewed. This can lead to some unusual final pairings, as we saw last season when Crystal Palace took on Manchester United.

Chelsea, which is off to a fantastic start in the English Premier League this season, is currently the favourite to win the 2016/17 FA Cup at 5/1. After a disastrous campaign last season, Chelsea has quickly righted the ship and is the current favourite to win the EPL title.

Manchester City is strong, as always, while Manchester United has been surging as of late. Can you really bet against either of these teams?

In addition, the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal, which are all strong clubs, are lurking as well. The pool is loaded with sharks at the top of the FA Cup, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

These are the teams that are seen as having a shot of winning.

There are other teams that are still alive, such as AFC Wimbledon, but their chances of winning are about the same as the chances of me walking to the moon.

Will a team like Chelsea or Man City end up on top, or will we have a surprise this year?
