After his decisive front-kick victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 274, Michael Chandler called out Conor McGregor.

To make the fight even more enticing for the "Notorious", Chandler smartly offered to fight at 170 pounds. McGregor has said that he likes being heavier and not having to cut so much weight, and is comfortable with the idea of fighting at 170 pounds.

McGregor had been angling for a fight against champion Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, though UFC President Dana White has said that a "tune-up" fight for McGregor would make more sense.

Is Chandler that fight?

After his epic KO victory and call-out, Chandler certainly has caught the attention of both McGregor and the UFC, and a Chandler vs McGregor tilt would be an absolute barnburner.

DraftKings released odds for the potential fight earlier tonight, and Chandler has opened as a small favourite:

Michael Chandler, -155
Conor McGregor, +135

-

McGregor's fans love to bet on him, so if this fight does go forward, I would anticipate McGregor trending closer to EVEN before the fight gets underway.

-

This fight makes a great deal of sense for both men.

In the Lightweight division, Chandler is likely behind the likes of Islam Makhachev in the title picture, so a pitstop to 170 to fight McGregor makes a great deal of sense until the Lightweight title picture becomes more clear.

For McGregor, Chandler would be a great fight at 170 to acclimate to the weight, and if he can pull off a decisive victory, McGregor could lay claim to a title shot against Usman.
