LA Dodgers Currently 1.10 To Win NL West
Published on August 14th, 2014 5:59 pm ESTWe are getting down to the final days of the 2014 season in Major League Baseball, with most teams having about 42-43 games left to play.
In terms of the divisional races in Major League Baseball, there are some really good races (American League Central, for instance), while other races (AL East, anyone?) have basically already been decided. The wild card races are where most of the drama lies these days, but that's another article for another day.
Let's quickly take a look at the six divisional races:
AL East - Baltimore is currently 7.5 games ahead of the Blue Jays. This race is almost certainly over barring an epic collapse by the O's.
AL Central - one of the best races in baseball, as the Kansas City Royals currently have a 0.5 game lead over the Detroit Tigers.
AL West - the Oakland A's, who have not faltered all season, currently have a 2 game lead over the powerhouse LA Angels
NL East - the Washington Nationals are comfortably ahead of both the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins
NL Central - the Milwaukee Brewers are currently fending off both the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates, as both teams are currently 2.5 games behind the Brewers. This race may come down to the final days of the season.
NL West - the LA Dodgers are pulling ahead of the San Francisco Giants and will likely not be caught.
