The LA Dodgers Stadium - Birds eye view perspective - Year 2017. Los Angeles in the background. Can the Los Angeles Dodgers finally fulfill their destiny and win baseball's biggest prize, or will the upstart Astros win the World Series?

After years of frustration, the Dodgers have finally made it to the World Series. Armed with all of the talent (and bankroll) in the world, the Dodgers have finally put it all together this year, steamrolling their ways to the World Series. The Cubs barely put up a fight in the NLCS, as the Dodgers steamrolled over the defending World Champions in just 5 games. In the end, the series wasn't even close, as the Dodgers proved that they were the vastly superior team.

The Astros, who spent years as one of the worst teams in baseball as they rebuilt from the ground up, managed to scrape their way past the New York Yankees. The Astros are one of the best stories in baseball right now, as they endured years of dwelling in the basement in order to rebuild their team the right way. In addition, given the issues that the Houston area has had to deal with over the past couple of months, the Astros are certainly the feel good story to win this year.

Feel good stories, however, mean nothing at the end of the day. It is all about talent and who is able to execute at the right time.

The Dodgers certainly have the more talented squad, as their pitching staff is sublime and their line-up doesn't contain much in the way of holes. Houston, however, has an excellent team as well, which should make for an absolutely wonderful World Series.

Let's take a look at the betting odds for this year's World Series:

Los Angeles Dodgers, 1.62
Houston Astros, 2.25

According to these odds, the Dodgers are the slight favourites to win, though the odds are close to being a coin flip.

Los Angeles has the home field advantage, which is why they are being given the edge in the series.

One important note - the temperature at starting time for Game 1 on Tuesday is expected to be over 95 degrees, so keep that in mind before putting down your bet.
