Can the New England Patriots, weary from a disappointing loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, rebound with a victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football?

According to the bookmakers, the Patriots, who are the defending Super Bowl champions, are five point favourites to win. While they certainly are the better team, the Patriots are likely exhausted following a back-and-forth game against the Panthers, followed by travel to Tampa Bay. While the Bucs also had a nail-biter game on Sunday, they didn't have to travel.

The Buccaneers will also be welcoming some fresh legs back into the line-up in the form of Doug Martin, who will be returning from a three game suspension. The Bucs already have a strong offensive unit even without Martin in the line-up, and the addition of the "Muscle Hamster" should give the team an even bigger boost.

Let's take a look at the betting odds for this game:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers, +5, 1.90

Money Line

Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 2.90

This game features two of the top offences in the league going against two of the worst defences, so there should be plenty of points put on the board.

In any offensive game, you would have to give the edge to the Pats, as they boast a line-up that includes Tom Brady, Gronk, Brandin Cooks and Chris Hogan. The Bucs, however, also have a potent offence that includes the likes of Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson and the returning Doug Martin.

Could we see an upset in this game? The Patriots haven't exactly been lights out so far this season, and they will be travelling during a short week.

If there is ever a time for an upset, this game is it.
