In early 2018, the Champions League tournament will pick back up once again with the start of the Round of 16.

The favourites at this point are easy to spot, as Manchester City, Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich all have great odds of winning, while teams such as Barcelona and Real Madrid trail closely behind.

The question that this article will look to answer: which teams have the worst odds of winning?

There are five teams with 100.00 or worse odds of winning the Champions League title at this point - they are:

Shakhtar Donetsk, 101.00
Besiktas, 201.00
Basel, 401.00

Of these five teams, Shakhtar Donetsk had the most fortunate draw in the Round of 16, as they will be playing Roma.

Here are the five Round of 16 match-ups that will involve these five teams:

Porto v Liverpool
Bayern Munich v Besiktas
Sevilla v Man Utd
FC Basel v Man City
Shakhtar Donetsk v Roma





History is certainly not on the side of these five clubs, as navigating through a shark-infested tournament is practically impossible for these lesser clubs.

Sure, you might score a surprise result, but to do so for four straight rounds against the best clubs in the world? Nearly impossible.

Liverpool defied the odds in the 2005 Champions League tournament, as the fourth place EPL club defeated numerous league title holders to win the title.

The difference, however, is that Liverpool had a decent amount of talent that season, despite their troubles in the English Premier League. They put things together at the right time and it paid off.

For Porto, Besiktas, Sevilla, FC Basel and Shakhtar Donetsk, however, it is just a matter of time before they have their time with the executioner.
