The reds are chasing the title. Next stop, Etihad Stadium and Manchester City. Big game! The fate of the English Premier League title this season may be decided on Thursday, January 3rd, when Man City and Liverpool clash in a crucial contest.

The game, which will be taking place at the City of Manchester Stadium, may virtually eliminate Manchester City from the EPL race or put them right back into contention.

As of this moment, after the first 20 games of the season, Liverpool currently sits at the top of the table with a record of 17-3-0 (54 points), while Manchester City currently sits in second with a total of 47 points.

A win for Liverpool would almost guarantee them the title, as they would be 10 points ahead of Manchester City with just 17 games left in the season. Given the quality of football that Liverpool is playing this year, a 10 point gap seems nearly insurmountable.

A win by Manchester City, on the other hand, would draw them to within 4 points of Liverpool and pull them right back into the race.

Teams like Tottenham and Chelsea, which both sit a few points back of Man City, are both hoping for a Man City win so that Liverpool doesn't pull too far ahead.

Liverpool has won their last nine English Premier League matches and has been deadly on the road, accumulating 26 points over the course of 10 road games.

Man City, on the other hand, has been second best in the league at home (behind Liverpool), accumulating 27 points over 10 home games.

Something will have to give on Thursday, as Man City has filled the net at home, scoring a total of 35 times in front of their home fans. Liverpool, on the other hand, has conceded a paltry 5 goals on the road so far this season.

Who do you think will win?
