Isaiah Wilson Was a Colossal Bust

There have been bigger busts in the NFL Draft - JaMarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf to name a few.
Isaiah Wilson, however, holds the distinction of being the first 1st round pick to play less than five career snaps in the modern era of the NFL.
-
Isaiah Wilson was on the direct track for the NFL from a very young age.
Wilson was a five-star recruit coming out of high school and Georgia eagerly offered a scholarship to the 350 pound offensive tackle out of Brooklyn.
Wilson redshirted in 2017 and was named a starter in 2018. In 2019, Wilson was named to the second-team All-Southeastern Conference in 2019.
Wilson elected to skip his last two years of eligibility and joined the 2020 NFL Draft, where he was selected 29th overall by the Tennessee Titans.
Wilson's rookie campaign was a complete disaster, to put it lightly.
Wilson spent almost the entirety of his rookie season either on the reserve/COVID-19 list or suspended.
After finally making his debut in Week 12 of the 2020 season, Wilson was suspended by the Titans for a "violation of team rules". After serving his team suspension, Wilson was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list for the remainder of the season.
Wilson ended up playing just four snaps in his rookie campaign - those would be the only snaps of his NFL career.
-
In February of 2021, Wilson announced that he was done with the Titans. A few weeks later, he was traded to the Miami Dolphins.
A fresh start? No way. Wilson showed up late to his physical exam and missed two team workouts. The Dolphins, who had paid essentially nothing to acquire Wilson, waived him just three days after trading for him.
Wilson would sign with the practice squad of the New York Giants in September of 2021, only to be released a few months later.
-
Wilson had several run-ins with the law with playing professional football.
In September of 2020, just days after the start of the NFL season, Wilson was arrested for a DUI.
In March of 2021, Wilson led police on a high-speed chase and was arrested on several different charges.
-
In total, Wilson played just four snaps in the NFL - three on offense, one on special teams.
In the end, the Titans received an absolutely abysmal return on their investment and would likely like to completely wipe out their memory of a Georgia offensive tackle named Isaiah Wilson.
