Dustin Poirier Opens as Big Favourite Over Conor McGregor in Potential Fourth Fight

Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 3 didn't end as most people would have liked, with McGregor suffering a gruesome leg injury at the end of the first round.

With Poirier securing a second win in the trilogy, surely things are over between the two men now?

Don't bet on it.

While Conor McGregor is now facing a lengthy rehabilition process, UFC President Dana White is planting the seed for a fourth fight between the two men.

The reason? Money. According to reports, UFC 264 is likely to top 1.8 million PPV buys, making it one of the biggest PPVs in the history of the UFC.

For that reason, don't be surprised at all if Poirier and McGregor enter the Octagon once again.

Poirier has won the last two fights between the two men, so it's not a surprise that he has opened as the favourite for a potential fourth fight.

Super Book Sports has opened odds for the fight, though they state that the fight must take place before the end of 2022 in order for the bet to have action.

Here are their opening odds for the potential fourth fight:

Dustin Poirier, -240
Conor McGregor, +200

-

In the meantime, expect Poirier to square off next for the title against Charles Oliveira.

And, given the UFC and Dana White, don't be surprise if McGregor's next fight is somehow for the title if Poirier ends up beating Oliveira later this year.
