This weekend's big boxing match will see Deontay Wilder attempt to defend his WBC World Heavyweight title against Luis Ortiz. The fight will be taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Wilder will enter this fight with a professional record of 39-0-0 and is widely considered to be one of the top Heavyweight fighters in the world (he is officially the #3 Heavyweight in the world behind Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin). Practically all of Wilder's wins over the course of his career have come via knockout or stoppage - only one of his pro fights went to a decision, and that was against Bermane Stiverne in January of 2015.
Over his past 5 fights, Wilder has notched knockout or stoppage victories over Bermane Stiverne, Gerald Washington, Chris Arreola, Artur Szpilka and Johann Duhaupas.
Luis Ortiz, on the other hand, also has an undefeated record and is currently considered the #4 Heavyweight in the world. Ortiz currently has a record of 28-0-0, with 24 of his victories coming via KO. That being said, Ortiz has faced a considerably lower level of opponent than Wilder, so one should be cautious about his record.
Over his last five fights, Ortiz has notched victories over Daniel Martz, David Allen, Malik Scott, Tony Thompson and Bryant Jennings.
