Beyond Surface Stats. Jake Pauls next opponent does not seem to be nearly as scary as the numbers show. The optics are certainly good - Jake Paul will be taking on the 10-1-1 Andre August in his next boxing match.

Another professional boxer for Jake Paul, and one with a 10-1-1 record? It sounds like Jake Paul is really challenging himself this time.

The problem? Looks are deceiving, and Andre August's record isn't nearly as good as it looks.

-

Something that bears mentioned before he even look at Andre August's previous opponents - he has only fought 12 times since making his professional debut roughly 10 years ago.

In addition, August has fought just once in the last four years.

Now, let's look at August's previous opponents:

1. Steven Medrano

Andre August knocked out Medrano in 41 seconds.

Both men were making their debuts - Medrano would NEVER fight again, and currently has a record of 0-1-0.

2. Rudy Lozano

Lozano was making his professional debut against Andre August.

The two men would fight to a majority draw.

Lozano currently has a record of 3-13-3.

3. Patrick Simes

Both August and Simes were taking part in their third professional fight - August would win via unanimous decision.

Simes currently has a professional record of 1-5-0.

4. Randon Montgomery

Montgomery was making his professional debut, and August would win via TKO.

Montgomery would NEVER fight again, and currently has a professional record of 0-1-0.

5. Joshua Kuhn

Kuhn had two fights under his belt at the time that he fought August, and August won via TKO.

Kuhn currently has a record of 1-4-1.

6. Ramiro Garcia

At the time, Garcia was 0-4-1.

August would win via KO.

Garcia currently has a professional record of 0-6-1.

7. Eric Abraham

Abraham would KNOCK OUT August, despite Abraham possessing a record of just 3-3-0 at the time.

Abraham currently sports a record of 7-16-0.

8. Jeremie Parks

August would get back on the winning track against the 6-25-3 Jeremie Parks, who now has a record of 6-29-3.

9. Jorge Garcia

August would win via unanimous decision against the 5-16-1 Garcia, who now has a record of 5-18-1.

10. Christian Solorzano

August would win via unanimous decision against the 7-13-0, who currently has a record of 7-14-0.

11. Santario Martin

August would win via unanimous decision against Martin, who now has a record of 4-7-0.

12. Brandon Martin

August would win via unanimous decision against Brandon Martin, who now has a record of 7-1-0.

It should be mentioned that Brandon Martin's opponents were all terrible or making their debuts, as his opponents had records such as 5-12-1, 1-6-0 and 2-18-0 when he fought them.

Andre August has a carefully collected record of 10-1-1 against opponents that leave MUCH to be desired.

Choosing August was a smart move for the Jake Paul camp, as his record looks much better than it actually is.
