The next stop on Canelo Alvarez's DAZN-sponsored tour of destruction will take place this weekend when he takes on Daniel Jacobs at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Alvarez, fresh off of signing a big money deal with streaming site DAZN, will be stepping into the ring as a heavy favourite against Daniel Jacobs, who is almost certainly going to get overwhelmed and outclassed.
The fight, which is a Golden Boy production, will be for the WBA, WBC and IBF Middleweight titles.
Alvarez, still just 28 years of age, is considered the best Middleweight boxer in the world right now. Alvarez currently has a professional record of 51-1-2, with his lone loss coming against Floyd Mayweather in September of 2013. Alvarez possesses a tremendous amount of knockout power, as 35 of his wins have come via knockout.
Alvarez enters this fight with consecutive wins against Rocky Fielding (first fight of his DAZN contract) and Gennady Golovkin.
Daniel Jacobs enters this fight with a professional record of 35-2-0, with 29 of his wins coming via knockout.
With that being said, Jacobs has faced a significantly weaker level of competition than Alvarez, with his biggest fight coming against GGG in March of 2017 (unanimous decision loss).
Alvarez is used to the big money fights, while Jacobs has only had a limited taste. While Alvarez is younger than Jacobs, the Mexican fighter possesses a significant experience advantage.
