The UEFA Champions League 2013/14 Qualifications - Second Round - First Leg - Scores



The UEFA Champions League (UCL) Logo - Large Size - 800 x 572The first legs of the second round of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League 2013/14 took place on July 16th and July 17th.

There were 17 matches played and among the 34 teams that competed on Tuesday and Wednesday, BATE Borisov, Dinamo Zagreb and Celtic made it all the way to the competition's group stage last year.

The second leg games are played on the 23rd and 24th of July after which the 17 winners will be pooled with some of the bigger names of European football for the third round of the competition which will take place on 30th and 31st of July and 6th and 7th of August.

The road to the UEFA Champions League group stage is a tough one for the teams from smaller leagues. After the third round, more European elite teams will join the qualification process for the round of play-offs which will take place on 20th, 21st and 27th of August. The play-offs will finally determine the 10 teams that will join the 22 teams that qualified to the UEFA Champions League group stage directly.
