Please note that 'expenditures' relate to player purchases and 'revenues' relate to player sales. Players on loans are also included in the calculations.

English Premier League: 669.530.400 £ - 241.376.960 £ = (-428.153.440 £)

French Ligue 1: 335.016.000 £ - 201.036.000 £ = (-133.980.000 £)

German Bundesliga: 231.048.400 £ - 180.272.400 £ = (-50.776.000 £)

Russian Premier Liga: 236.170.000 £ - 221.276.000 £ = (-14.894.000 £)

Italian Serie A: 361.156.400 £ - 363.246.400 £ = 2.090.000 £

Spanish La Liga: 351.956.000 £ - 442.085.600 £ = 90.129.600


English Premier League (EPL) is where most of the football talent moved to this summer. It was a record-breaking season for the EPL where the team expenditures totalled 669.530.400 £.

The EPL teams that strengthened the most, according to the numbers, are Manchester CIty with the balance of -91.777.840 £, Chelsea FC with the balance of -57.376.000 £ and Arsenal with the balance of -33.836.000 £.

Thanks to big spenders AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), French Ligue 1 was the league that strengthened the most after the EPL. PSG summer transfer season balance is -74.272.000 £, while AS Monaco's summer balance stands at an astonishing -140.756.000 £.

It is interesting to note that the Spanish La Liga lost out on talent this summer, despite the high profile transfers of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid and Neymar to FC Barcelona.
