Three goals in just 21 seconds?
In 1952, Billy Mosienko of the Chicago Black Hawks set a record that still stands to this day after he scored three goals in just 21 seconds.
When the Black Hawks played the New York Rangers on March 23rd, 1952, little did the people in attendance know that they were about to witness the breaking of a record.
Little did they know that the record would still stand, over 70 years later.
The Rangers were beating the Black Hawks easily on that warm spring night, as they were leading 5-2 heading into the third and final period.
Unfortunately for the Rangers, Hurricane Mosienko was about to blow into their arena.
At 6:09 of the third period, Mosienko would score his 29th goal of the season to make the game 6-3.
11 seconds later, at 6:20 of the third period, Mosienko would score his second goal of the game, and 30th goal of the season.
The Rangers would have a penalty called on them, and Mosienko would stay out for the power play.
Ten seconds later, and 6:30 of the third period, Mosienko would score his third goal of the game, making the score 6-5.
While Mosienko was done scoring for the night, the Black Hawks were not, and Chicago would end up winning by a score of 7-6.

It will be nearly impossible for somebody in the current NHL to break this record.
The reason? Line changes.
In most cases, a player is taken off of the ice when they score a goal, as it is a good opportunity to change lines.
If a player stayed on the ice after scoring a goal (maybe the team was down and they had a 5-minute power play), there is virtually NO chance that they would be kept on the ice after scoring two goals in a row. Teams usually have two really good power play units and/or top two lines, so the second line would certainly get called to the ice at this point.
This record will stand for a long, long time.
