The total number for the Fury/Wilder rematch was $16.92 million, which puts it at #7 on the all-time boxing gate list.
While this is certainly an impressive number, it pales into comparison when you include fights involving Floyd "Money" Mayweather.
The largest gate in the history of boxing remains Mayweather vs Pacquiao, which clocked in at an unbelievable $72,198,500. That fight was years in the making, and while it ultimately disappointed millions of boxing fans across the world, the money that was made on that night may never be surpassed again.
Mayweather vs McGregor certainly tried, as it ended up raising over $55 million at the gate, and this came despite the fact that the event was held in a significantly smaller venue (the T-Mobile arena had 3,200 less seats than the MGM, which is where Mayweather/Pacquiao was hosted).
After those two fights, Alvarez vs GGG hold the next two largest gates at $27 million and $24.47 million respectively.
Rounding out the top 5 is another Mayweather fight, as his 2013 clash against Canelo Alvarez ended up drawing just over $20 million at the gate.
While "Money" Mayweather has the two largest gates in boxing history, Canelo Alvarez has been involved in three of the top five largest gates.
