Thanks to an injury to Carson Wentz, the NFL's Most Valuable Player award now seems to be Tom Brady's to lose.
Carson Wentz suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Rams last weekend, which will likely result in him missing out on winning the MVP award. Up until that point, Wentz and Brady were neck-and-neck to win the award, with many people thinking that voters will give the much younger player the MVP title in the end.
With Wentz's injury, there is little chance that he ends up winning, despite the fact that the Eagles will finish this season with one of the league's best records.
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots keep on rolling and seem destined to return to the Super Bowl this season. Despite the fact that Brady has been in the league for more than 15 years, he continues to compile eye-popping numbers and the Patriots continue to win.
With Wentz likely now out of the picture, the players that are seen with the likeliest odds of winning are Antonio Brown, Russell Wilson and Ben Roethlisberger. Here are the current MVP betting odds according to Bodog:
Time Stamp: December 17th, 2017 7:57 am EST
Tom Brady, -200
Antonio Brown, +425
Russell Wilson, +425
Carson Wentz, +1200
Ben Roethlisberger, +1400
Drew Brees, +2000
Philip Rivers, +2000
Le'Veon Bell, +4000
Voters tend to favor quarterbacks for the MVP award, so it seems unlikely that somebody like Brown or Bell would win.
If the Chargers can defeat the Chiefs this weekend, Philip Rivers may suddenly find himself in the running for the award, as he has been putting up some very big numbers as of late.
That being said, there appears to be little hope that Brady will lose this award, unlike something unpredictable happens to close out the season.
