Which NFL team has lost the most Super Bowl games?
If you answered with the Buffalo Bills (a good answer, considering that the franchise lost four Super Bowls in a row), you'd be wrong.
The answer: the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos, who have both lost FIVE Super Bowl games.
The New England Patriots, led by Tom Brady, have won six Super Bowls. Legendary status and nobody is denying that.
The Patriots, however, have also LOST in the Super Bowl a total of five times, including notable losses to the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, to name a few.
In fact, it was the Giants who derailed Tom Brady and the New England Patriots attempt for a perfect season.
Eli Manning was a talented yet flawed quarterback, and he will likely be best remembered as being the thorn in Tom Brady's side.
The Denver Broncos have also lost in the Super Bowl game a total of five times. The Broncos, however, have just three victories.
The Broncos had some fantastic teams that ended up fizzling out in the Super Bowl, including a team led by Peyton Manning that was absolutely destroyed in the final game by the Seattle Seahawks. The one thing that you can say for the New England Patriots is that they were never blown out in any of their Super Bowl losses.

Two teams - the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings - have lost in the Super Bowl a total of four times. The Vikings haven't been to the Super Bowl recently, while the Bills famously lost four Super Bowls in a row during the 1990s, and have never returned to the game since.
A number of teams - including the San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys - have lost in the Super Bowl a total of three times.
