In Super Bowl XII, the Dallas Cowboys easily bested the Denver Broncos by a score of 27-10.
The two teams seemed evenly matched heading into the game, as both teams were 12-2.
The Dallas Cowboys' defense had a field day on January 15th, 1979, forcing eight turnovers. The Broncos would complete just eight passes on the day for 61 yards as Denver's offense was completely pummelled by the Cowboys.
The Broncos managed just 35 net passing yards on the day, as starting quarterback Craig Morton was sacked four times and threw four interceptions. Morton's backup, Norris Weese, didn't fare much better, as the two quarterbacks went a combined 8-25 on the day.

It wasn't a surprise that a defensive player won the Super Bowl MVP award that day.
It was a surprise, however, when two players shared the award, as Harvey Martin and Randy White were both given the award to share.
Harvey Martin finished the day with two sacks, while Randy White added a sack of his own. These two players ended up sharing the Super Bowl MVP award.
In reality, any number of Cowboys' defensive players could have taken home the award. Randy Hughes, for instance, had an interception and two fumble recoveries.

This was the first and only time (so far) that two players have shared the Super Bowl MVP award.
