Anderson Silva Opens as Favorite Over Chris Weidman

The date for Silva/Weidman 2 hasn't even been set as of yet (remember, the UFC still has to convince Anderson Silva to even take the fight, as he shrugged off a potential rematch in his post-fight interview), but the betting odds for the anticipated fight have already been released.

The odds for the Silva/Weidman rematch are close, but Silva is still a slight favourite:

Anderson Silva, -140
Chris Weidman, +100

So, according to these odds, you would need to bet $140 on Anderson Silva in order to have a chance of winning $100 back, while Chris Weidman is currently sitting at even money.

In the days leading up to UFC 162, Anderson Silva was about a -220 favorite. As we all know by now, Silva was caught by Weidman and knocked out in the second round.

The Silva/Weidman 2 fight is a tough one to handicap, as we don't know which Anderson Silva will show up.

Will it be the Silva who clowned his way to a loss at UFC 162, or will it be the Silva who destroyed Forrest Griffin at UFC 101 following two very badly received fights against Thales Leites and Patrick Cote? A motivated Anderson Silva is a monster, as we saw in his fights against Griffin and Vitor Belfort.

There are some who think that Anderson Silva's time is up, regardless of how motivated he will be heading into his rumored rematch against Weidman. These people think that Weidman is too strong and too good to lose to Silva.

If Dana White can make this fight, Silva/Weidman II will likely be one of the biggest fights in the history of the UFC.
