According to the bookmakers, women's tennis #1 ranked player Serena Williams is currently the 1/3 favourite to win her third French Open title (2002, 2013) on Saturday against Lucie Safarova.

Lucie Safarova beat Ana Ivanovic 7-5, 7-5 to advance to the finals, while a flu-ridden Serena Williams had a much harder time of things, needing three sets to get past T. Bacsinszky. Will Williams be feeling better by the time that the Finals roll around on Saturday? We'll see, but there is practically no doubt that Williams would be a much bigger favourite to win if she were feeling perfectly healthy.

Again, here are the odds for Saturday's Finals match:

Serena Williams, 1/3
Lucie Safarova, 12/5

According to these odds, Williams has a 75.19% chance of winning the match, while Safarova has a 29.41% chance of winning.

This will be the first Grand Slam final of Safarova's career - her previous best finish came in Wimbledon in 2014 when she reached the semi-finals. Williams, on the other hand, has an absolute wealth of experience to draw on, and it will be interesting to see how Safarova holds up under the intense glare of millions of tennis fans viewing the proceedings.

There are a number of unknown variables leading into this match (namely, Williams' health), but the world's #1 player is still the prohibitive favourite to win.
