The Prix d'Amerique is the premier harness racing event of the year, and it takes place on the last Sunday of every January in the Hippodrome de Vincennes in Paris, France.
The event was first run in 1920 as a way of saying "thank you" to the United States for their help in the first World War. The very first Prix d'Amerique was won by Pro Patria, who also won in 1921.
The event has been run every year except 1940 and 1941.
The defending champion is Hooker Berry, who was ridden by Jean-Michel Bazire.
The event features a prize pool of roughly 1 million Euros, making it one of the richest harness racing events in the world.
