According to the oddsmakers, this year's Men's US Tennis Open boils down to just two players - Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

With Rafael Nadal having withdrawn from the tournament, the US Open is really Djokovic's to lose. The world's #1 player has been on a ferocious roll as of late, regaining the title of the world's top player thanks to a string of victories earlier in the year.

Roger Federer, however, has also been playing some sublime tennis as of late and seems to have rejuvenated his career. There were many who felt as though Federer was in the twilight of his career, but the Swiss superstar has proved all of his doubters wrong by turning up the heat in 2014. Federer has consistently been the #2 player in the world over the past number of months, proving to be much more of a challenge to Novak Djokovic than the likes of Rafael Nadal and Stan Wawrinka.

As mentioned, Djokovic and Federer are the two current favourites to win this event. Here are their current odds to win:

Novak Djokovic, 2.25
Roger Federer, 3.50

Sure, Djokovic is the favourite, though gamblers are betting that Federer stands a very good chance of winning in New York.

Here are the current odds for the next batch of players:

Andy Murray, 8.00
Stan Wawrinka, 13.00
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 21.00
Grigor Dimitrov, 15.00
Milos Raonic, 21.00

Andy Murray has stumbled badly in 2014 following a breakthrough year last year, while Wawrinka has failed to follow through after beating Rafael Nadal in the finals of the 2014 Australian Open.

With Rafael Nadal not participating in the event, who do you think is the current favourite to win? Will Djokovic cap off a very strong 2014 with a win in the US Open, or will the wily veteran from Switzerland add another trophy to his mantlepiece? Or will somebody else come out of nowhere to win?
