The longest winning streaks in NBA playoffs. In photo: Kyrie Irving of Cleveland. Are the 2017 Golden State Warriors the greatest team in NBA history?

That season, the Warriors went 67-15 in the regular season, cruising to the top spot in the Western Conference. They probably could have done even better, though there wasn't much motivation for the team, as they clinched a playoff spot in mid February.

When the playoffs started, the Warriors put on their game faces, and boy did they cook.

The Warriors would start the playoffs by winning 15 games in a row, which still stands as the NBA record.

The Warriors started that postseason by sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers.

After that, the Warriors swept the Jazz and Spurs, and followed that up by posting three straight wins against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Thanks to a heroic 40-point effort from Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers managed to avoid a sweep, though the Warriors would end up winning in Game 5 to take home the title.

The 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers would tie the previous record by winning 13 postseason games in a row, led by LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.

The Cavs squared off against the 73-9 Golden State Warriors in the finals, eventually winning the series in 7 games. This is where their winning streak started, as they won the last three games of the series, and then they extended this streak into the following postseason by winning 10 games in a row.

One other team has won at least 13 playoff games in a row, and that was the 1988-1989 Los Angeles Lakers, who started off their winning streak during the final game of the 1988 season. Their streak carried over into the next season, when they won an impressive 12 games in a row to start the post-season.
