Most UFC fans seem to have a problem with it, and Arman Tsarukyan (the rightful #1 contender in the eyes of many) certainly doesn't like it, but Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett will be taking on Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 324 on Saturday, January 24th for the interim Lightweight title.

What happened to the champion, Ilia Topuria, you may be asking? Topuria has decided to step away for a while as he deals with a painful divorce.

The UFC has said that the winner of Pimblett v Gaethje will take on Topuria to unify the Lightweight title, later in the year.

Fans are upset about this match-making, but the UFC wanted to set off their new streaming deal with a bang, and this fight certainly qualifies. Pimblett and Gaethje both have a fan-friendly fighting style, and Gaethje has been involved in some of the best fights in the history of the UFC.

Paddy Pimblett really elevated his standing in the eyes of fans when he took apart Michael Chandler at UFC 314. This was the toughest fight of Pimblett's career, and he destroyed the former top title contender. Fans were clamouring to see Pimblett in a real fight, and he delivered.

Pimblett is undefeated in the UFC.

Justin Gaethe, on the other hand, is 3-2 in his last five fights in the UFC, though his losses came against legends in Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira.

In his most recent fight, Gaethje beat Rafael Fiziev in a three-round banger.

This may not have been the right fight to make, but there is no doubt that it will be exciting.
