What is the definition of the term 1st Half Asian Spread? What is meant by the term 1st Half Asian Spread?

The term "1st Half Asian Spread" refers to a type of handicap bet that applies only to the first half of a match. Just like a full-game Asian Handicap, the stronger team is given a negative handicap, while the weaker team gets a positive handicap, but the bet is settled solely on the score at halftime.

For example, if Liverpool is priced at 2.000 with a 1st Half Asian Spread of -0.5, -1.0 against Bournemouth, it means they must be ahead by at least one goal at halftime to win half the bet, and ahead by two or more to win the full bet. If they are only up by one goal, half the stake is a win and half is refunded.

On the other side, if Bournemouth is +0.5, +1.0 at odds of 1.800, they win the bet if they are ahead or level at halftime. If they are down by exactly one goal, half the bet loses and half is refunded. This market is popular with bettors who want to focus only on the first 45 minutes of play.
