1932 Chicago Bears Posted Some Unbelievable Stats

Imagine if a defense in today's NFL allowed just two points over the course of four games and had absolutely nothing to show for it.
This is exactly what happened with the 1932 Chicago Bears, who allowed two points in four games and didn't win a single game.
The Bears had a phenomenal season in 1932 - after all, they only lost one game, and ended up winning the NFL Championship.
The season, however, didn't get off to a great start, and the Bears were winless after four games.

On September 25th, 1932, the Bears opened on the road against the Green Bay Packers. The game ended in a 0-0 tie.
The Bears continued their road trip the following week, as they travelled to take on the Staten Island Stapletons. Another game, another 0-0 tie.
On October 9th, 1932, the Bears continued their road trip against the Chicago Cardinals. Another 0-0 tie.
On October 16th, 1932, the Bears played their first home game of the season, and lost 2-0 to the Green Bay Packers.
Four games. Two points allowed. A record of 0-1-3.
After the October 16th, 1932 game, you'd have to imagine that Coach Ralph Jones tore a strip off of the team.
After all, the Bears were a very good team, with a number of gifted offensive players who would eventually find themselves in the Hall of Fame.
The assumed verbal beatdown worked, as the offense suddenly kicked into gear, posting 20+ points in four of their next six games.
The Bears would finish at the top of the NFL standings, and would eventually win the NFL Championship, shutting out the Portsmouth Spartans by a score of 9-0.

Over the course of 14 games, the 1932 Chicago Bears allowed just 44 points. A truly remarkable performance.
