Nick Diaz is back in the octagon. Next fight will be against Anthony Pettis. Bet on it! It almost seems too good to be true - Nate Diaz is finally returning to the Octagon on August 17th to take on Anthony "Showtime" Pettis. This will be the first time that Diaz has fought in the Octagon since losing to Conor McGregor in their second fight years ago.

For a long period of time, Nate Diaz appeared to be done with the UFC. After all, he made a great deal of money from his two fights with McGregor (especially the rematch) and it seemed as though he was content to just live off of his money.

There were a few times that it appeared as though Diaz may be moving towards a fight - the closest was a proposed fight against Dustin Poirier at Madison Square Garden, though that would ultimately end up falling apart.

As August 17th moves closer, it now appears as though we'll be getting another Nate Diaz fight in the UFC. Was he promised a third fight against Conor McGregor with a win? We'll see.

Diaz has a very interesting opponent in Anthony Pettis. Pettis is flashy and one of the best strikers in the UFC, though Diaz will likely have a sizable advantage if the fight gets to the ground. After all, Diaz is one of the best ground fighters in the UFC.

Pettis, however, has been much more active than Diaz over the past couple of years, and it will be very interesting to see how much ring rust Diaz has when he enters the Octagon.

As you can see, these odds are pretty much even - in short, this fight is seen as a coin flip.

In most circumstances, Diaz would likely be a sizable favourite to win, though it is his time away from the Octagon that brings the two fighters closer.

This should be a fantastic fight! Who do you think will win?
