Brett Favre holds a record for most lifetime pick sixes in the NFL. In order to be included on the list of NFL quarterbacks with the most pick sixes, you need to have had a long career in the NFL where you threw many, many passes.

The more of a "gunslinger" you were considered to be, the better.

Were you a pass-first quarterback that had no problem trying to place a ball perfectly into triple coverage? If so, you probably had a large number of pick sixes over the course of your career.

At the top of the list? Brett Favre.

Favre, with his ridiculously strong arm, had a long career in the NFL.

Over his two decades in the NFL, Favre threw a total of 31 pick sixes, which puts him at the top of the list.

Next up on the list? Dan Marino, who tossed a total of 29 pick sixes over the course of his 17 year career.

-

The active player that has a very good chance of breaking the record? Matthew Stafford.

Stafford is just 34 years of age and is still playing at a very high level.

As of this moment, Stafford has 27 pick sixes, which puts him in a tie with Drew Brees and Peyton Manning for #4 on the list.

Given that Stafford will likely play for at least another 5-6 years, he is almost a lock to break the record.
