Penguins vs Capitals Betting Line
Published on February 3rd, 2013 12:07 am ESTThe Pittsburgh Penguins will travel to Washington to do battle against the Capitals on Sunday afternoon. The game will be broadcast nationally on NBC.
The Pittsburgh Penguins looked a bit lethargic to start the season, but they have turned things on in their past couple of games. The Penguins are currently 5-3-0 on the season, with wins in their last two games. Pittsburgh is 4-1-0 on the road so far this season, having recently beaten the Senators and Rangers on the road. The Penguins' most recent result was a 5-1 home victory against the New Jersey Devils.
The Washington Capitals, on the other hand, have stumbled badly out of the gate, starting the season 2-5-1. The Capitals have been stung badly by their inability to win on the road, as they are currently 0-3-1 away from home.
What ails the Capitals? How about we start with Alexander Ovechkin, who has just three points in his first eight games of the season? Two goals and a -3 for the Capitals' biggest star just isn't going to cut it, and the Capitals will need a much-improved Ovechkin if they hope to make the playoffs this season. In addition, Braden Holtby, who was so good in last year's playoffs, has gotten off to a very shaky start this season, allowing 12 goals in just three games.

The Penguins and Capitals are going in different directions right now. The two teams have quite the rivalry going - will the Capitals finally turn things around playing in front of a national audience against a hated rival? We'll see.
