Novak Djokovic, the world's #1 men's tennis player and the odds-on favourite to win the French Open, will be taking on Dominic Thiem in semi-final action on Friday.

The unheralded Thiem has surprised many by making a deep run into the French Open, though his luck will likely end on Friday, at least according to the oddsmakers. Here are the current odds for the match:

Novak Djokovic, 1/12
Dominic Thiem, 7/1

Djokovic, who has nearly $100 million in total lifetime prize money, has never won the French Open, despite three appearances in the finals (2012, 2014, 2015). There will be plenty of pressure on Djokovic to win the last two matches of the tournament to complete his career Grand Slam, while Thiem will be playing with nothing to lose.

The winner of Djokovic vs Thiem will take on the winner of Wawrinka/Murray, which is also set to take place later today.

Djokovic has had a very easy path to the semi-finals, as he has dropped just one set so far. Djokovic has been his usual dominant self, destroying his opponents with a combination of power, finesse and pinpoint precision.

Dominic Thiem, on the other hand, has had a harder time of things, as he has needed four sets in all but one of his matches so far.

Can Thiem pull off the unthinkable upset, or will Djokovic storm to the finals to try to take down his first ever French Open title?
