CP3

Many people have heard this nickname of Chris Paul, who has worn the jersey number 3 throughout his career. But what exactly is the story behind CP3?

Some people make a wild guess that the three in CP3 has something to do with the three-pointers that Chris Paul has scored during his career. Though he has scored more than 1500 3-pointers in his NBA Career, this is not the reason why he is called CP3.

CP3 is a childhood nickname of Chris Paul with a very beautiful story linked to it. Chris Paul's father's name was Chris Paul, as well. And his elder brother was named Chris Edwards Paul. In chronological order, his father was CP1, his brother CP2, and the basketball prodigy was tagged as CP3. Thus, Chris Paul was called CP3 from a very young age.

Later on, the nickname CP3 dictated his choice of Jersey Number 3 at the NBA Level.
