These are the potential first overall picks in the upcoming NBA draft. The year is 2020. Unlike in previous years (Zion Williamson last season, for instance), there is no clear-cut first overall pick in the NBA Draft this season.

Instead, three young men - Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball and James Wiseman - have all been mentioned as potential first overall picks.

The Minnesota Timberwolves possess the first overall pick, and there are strong rumblings that they have their sights set on drafting Anthony Edwards.

The player who is selected SECOND overall will be moving into an interesting situation, as the Golden State Warriors possess the #2 pick. Assuming that they don't deal the pick, the second overall selection will be playing for a team that will likely be contending for a title, as both Steph Curry and Klay Thompson will be returning after suffering injuries. A player like LaMelo Ball could find themselves contending for a NBA title in their very first season, assuming that the Warriors don't deal their pick.

Here are the current betting odds to be selected first overall as of this moment, courtesy of a major offshore sportsbook:

Anthony Edwards, -150
LaMelo Ball, +115
James Wiseman, +550
Deni Avdija, +4000
Obi Toppin, +5000

-

All eyes are on LaMelo Ball due to his father and brother, Lonzo Ball.

LaMelo took a very unusual path to the NBA, as he dropped out of high school and ended up playing professional basketball in Lithuania and Australia.

LaMelo won't have played a single game of college basketball when he is drafted on November 18th, though scouts like what they see in the youngest Ball brother, and believe that he could potentially be a superstar in the NBA.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have more of a need for a guard right now, which is why Edwards and Ball are both seen as potential landing spots.
