"Mattress Mack" is at it again.

Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale, founder of Gallery Furniture, loves to place massive wagers.

These wagers usually involve the Houston Astros winning the World Series. Sometimes he wins, and sometimes (like with this past year) he comes up short.

Earlier this week (before Thursday Night Football), Mack placed two wagers on the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl at +2300 - one for $1.25 million at Barstool, and another for $750,000 at The Score. Source: Dave Portnoy

If the Patriots end up winning the Super Bowl, Mack would walk away with a total profit of $46 million.

A month ago, this wager would have seemed laughable.

Now, with the Patriots enjoying a five-game winning streak that has included decimations of the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers, things don't seem so laughable.

Mac Jones has found his rhythm and has significantly closed the gap on Ja'Marr Chase in the Offensive Rookie of the Year race.

The Patriots' defense looks ferocious, as they are dismantling their opponents.

The ball is being spread around, as the likes of Damien Harris, Nelson Agholor and Hunter Henry are all contributing on offense.

At the heart of it all? Bill Belichick, who has the Patriots in the mix to win the AFC East, much to the surprise of many across the league.

McIngvale says that he likes to bet on teams that have won before, and Bill Belichick and the Patriots have certainly won many times in the past.
