The first ever Bahrain Grand Prix was conducted in 2004. This was the first time a Grand Prix event had been held in the middle east. The first edition was so well conducted that it received the award of Best Organized Grand Prix by the FIA. In 2010, Bahrain Grand Prix was conducted under lights. Thus, becoming only the second Grand Prix after Singapore Grand Prix to be conducted under floodlights. Until now, 18 editions of the Grand Prix have been held.


Circuit Details:

The Bahrain Grand Prix is held at the Bahrain International Circuit. The circuit has distinctive large run-off areas. These areas prevent the sand from getting onto the track but also allow the drivers to stray off the track. The total length of the circuit is 5.412 km, while there are 57 laps in the Bahrain GP.

The total length of the Bahrain GP is 308.238 km.


2024 Winner:

After winning the race last year, Max Verstappen led the 2024 season's opening Bahrain F1 race from start to finish. Sergio Perez, also from Red Bull, secured second place, completing a one-two finish for the team. Carlos Sainz finished third, making it to the podium.

Another Veteran F1 Driver, Sebastian Vettel, has also been particularly successful at the Bahrain GP. Sebastian has won 4 races at the Bahrain Grand Prix. His victories came in 2012, 2013, 2017, and 2018.

Fernando Alonso:

The Spanish F1 Driver and former world champion, Fernando Alonso, has won three editions of the Bahrain Grand Prix. He won the races in 2005, 2006, and 2010.

Felipe Massa:

The Brazilian Automobile Driver Felipe Massa has won twice at the Bahrain Grand Prix. His victories came in 2007 and 2008.

Among Constructors, Ferrari leads the charts at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Ferrari has won the Bahrain Grand Prix on a record 7 occasions. Their wins came in 2004, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2017, 2018, and 2022.

Mercedes has won 6 editions of the Bahrain Grand Prix. Their victories came in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Renault and Red Bull:

Among constructors, Renault and Red Bull have won the Bahrain Grand Prix twice.


Engine Manufacturers:

The Monacan F1 driver Charles Leclerc won the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix. He also holds the record for the fastest lap at the Bahrain Grand Prix with a lap time of 1:34.570.
