Could the Democrats actually win the state of Texas in the upcoming US Presidential election?
Democrat supporters point to favorable polling data that suggests that Joe Biden is tied in the state, or even leading.
Could Texas and its 38 electoral college votes actually swing to Joe Biden and the Democrats for the first time since 1976?
While Democrats are enthusiastically pointing to recent polling data, the bookmakers are telling a different story.
As of this moment, the Republicans are still big favorites to carry the state.
Here are the current betting odds to win the state of Texas, courtesy of a major European sportsbook:
Republicans, -300
Democrats, +225
So, according to these odds, you would need to bet $300 on the Republicans to win Texas in order to have a chance of winning $100 in profits back.
A successful $100 wager on the Democrats, however, would yield a profit of $225 if Joe Biden was able to shock the world and carry the state of Texas.
