Gilbert Melendez vs Ben Henderson Odds

Ben Henderson will be defending his Lightweight title against Gilbert Melendez this Saturday in the main event of UFC on Fox 7: Melendez vs Henderson.

This fight will essentially unify the Lightweight title, as Henderson is the current UFC Lightweight champion, while Gilbert Melendez was the reigning Strikeforce Lightweight champion when the promotion was folded into the UFC earlier this year. Gilbert Melendez was frequently been regarded as one of the world's best fighters outside of the UFC, and now he will get his chance to show just how good he is.

Melendez is currently riding a long seven fight winning streak that includes victories over Jorge Masvidal and Shinya Aoki. Ben Henderson, on the other hand, is in the midst of a six fight winning streak that includes two wins over Frankie Edgar and a win over Nate Diaz.

Ben Henderson is the favorite heading into Saturday night's fight. Here are the current betting odds:

Gilbert Melendez, +230
Ben Henderson, -300

These odds mean that a successful $100 wager on Melendez would yield a total profit of $230, while a successful $300 bet on Henderson would yield a total profit of $100.

Gilbert Melendez has apparently put on a bit of muscle in order to better protect himself against Henderson's vaunted leg kicks.

Ben Henderson, on the other hand, is a very big Lightweight fighter and will be looking to use his size, kicks and wrestling to take Melendez to the ground.

This will be a great fight and will finally answer the question as to who the best Lightweight fighter in the world is.
