Ben Simmons - Philadelphia 76ers - Number 25 - Blue jersey - Zoom. The betting odds to win the 2017/18 NBA Rookie of the Year trophy have now been released.

While Lonzo Ball and Markelle Fultz have received most of the ink from writers heading into the upcoming NBA season, they are not the current odds-on favorites to win the title.

That distinction belongs to Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers, who is currently 13/5 to win Rookie of the Year honors this season. Remember, Ben Simmons suffered an injured foot and didn't play even a minute of NBA action last season, so he will still be considered a rookie heading into this upcoming season.

Lonzo Ball, who was the #2 pick in the recently held NBA draft, currently has the second best odds to win the award at 3/1. Ball impressed in his second game of summer league ball, posting a triple double. Ball is a play-maker and many expect that he will end up winning the Rookie of the Year award this year.

DeAaron Fox, who some believe is the most NBA-ready of the rookies entering this season, is listed at 6/1 to win the award.

Markelle Fultz, who was the #1 draft pick (after Philadelphia traded up to get him), is currently listed at 5/1 to win the Rookie of the Year award. Fultz's chances of winning the award darkened somewhat after he suffered an injury in one of his first summer league games. Fultz is considered to be the most dynamic of the incoming NBA rookies, though he will be facing immense pressure on a Philadelphia squad that likely won't be very good.
