Ronda Rousey, Dominick Cruz Both Favored to Win

On Friday, December 30th, the UFC will host its final numbered event of the year, UFC 207 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

At the top of the card sits two title fights - Ronda Rousey vs Amanda Nunes for the Women's Bantamweight title, and Dominick Cruz vs Cody Garbrandt for the Men's Bantamweight title.

The main event (Rousey vs Nunes) has the added intrigue of featuring the return of Ronda Rousey to the Octagon, who has been out since 2015. Rousey, who was at one time deemed a practically unbeatable fighter, was knocked out by Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193 in Australia. How will Rousey rebound after suffering the first loss of her career? This is the intriguing question heading into this fight.

In the co-main event, Dominick Cruz will be attempting to defend his title against Cody Garbrandt. Cruz has a decided experience advantage over Garbrandt, and it will be interesting to see how Garbrandt does when the spotlight is shining its brightest. Garbrandt skipped the line, so to speak, and hasn't fought any of the top contenders in the Bantamweight division, so it will be interesting to see how he performs.

Cain Velasquez vs Fabricio Werdum, which was originally slated to be the main card's third fight, has been called off after Velasquez was declared medically unfit to fight by the Nevada Athletic Commission. This means that the UFC 207 will feature a total of ten fights.

Should Ronda Rousey be the favorite here? How is her mental make-up heading into Friday night?

This is going to be a very compelling fight, and I can't wait to see how things end up playing out.
