Man City and Liverpool A Virtual Coinflip To Win EPL
Published on April 28th, 2014 2:10 pm ESTThe race for the English Premier League is essentially down to just two teams - Man City and Liverpool.
Chelsea, on the other hand, is mathematically still alive but would need a small miracle to win.
It was a crazy weekend in the English Premier League this past weekend as Liverpool lost 2-0 to Chelsea at home, while Man City beat Crystal Palace 2-0 away from home.
Here are the current standings at the top of the table:
Liverpool, 25-5-6, 80 points
Chelsea, 24-6-6, 78 points
Man City, 24-5-6, 77 points
It's important to note that Man City has only played 35 games, while Chelsea and Liverpool have both played 36.
Here are the remaining games for the three teams that are still in contention for the EPL title:
Liverpool
Crystal Palace
Newcastle
Chelsea
Norwich City
Cardiff City
Man City
Everton
Aston Villa
West Ham
Two of Man City's last three games are at home. Man City's fate now rests solely in their own hands - if they win out in their last three games and maintain their superior goal differential (Man City has a GD of 58 while Liverpool has a GD of 50), they will claim another EPL title, regardless of what Chelsea and Liverpool do.

Here are the current betting odds to win the EPL title:
Man City, 1.80
Liverpool, 2.25
Chelsea, 15.00
As you can see, Man City has the small edge over Liverpool, while Chelsea is essentially out of the running.
Will Man City stumble against Everton, Aston Villa or West Ham? The biggest potential stumbling block is likely Everton, which is currently sitting in fifth position in the table. Everton has plenty to play for as well as they are still in contention for a Champions League spot.
The last three weeks of the season should be stellar - I can't wait to see what happens.
