History:
The Next Gen ATP Finals was launched in 2017 as a collaboration between the ATP, the Italian Tennis Federation, and the Italian Olympic Committee. Milan hosted the first edition, and the city has remained the event's home ever since. The tournament quickly gained attention as a showcase for future ATP champions.

Venue and Courts:
The tournament is played on hard indoor courts at the Allianz Cloud Arena in Milan, Italy. The modern venue provides a high-energy atmosphere, complete with music, dynamic lighting, and fast-paced matches that appeal to younger audiences.

Format and Qualification:
Eight players qualify each year: the top seven performers in the ATP Race to Milan, plus one wild card determined through a qualifying tournament. The players are divided into two groups of four for a round-robin stage. The top two players from each group advance to the semifinals, followed by the championship match.

Match Rules:
The Next Gen ATP Finals has served as a testing ground for new ideas. Matches are best of five sets, but each set is first to four games (tiebreak at 3-3). Shot clocks, no-ad scoring, and electronic line calls have all been introduced here before appearing on the main tour.
