Sevilla vs. Bayern Munich - Champions League preview - 2017/18 season. Bayern are the favourites. Sevilla and Bayern Munich will be meeting for the first time in European competition this coming Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. The game will take place at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Seville.

Bayern, who are in the UCL quarter-final for seventh consecutive season, are the more experienced side of the two and the heavy favourites in this match. This is only the second time Sevilla has been here and the first time was 60 years ago. Bayern have made it this far 29 times and won the tournament on 5 occasions.

Sevilla are unbeaten at home this season in the Champions League. One of those games featured an impressive comeback vs. Liverpool, after being down 0-3 at half time. Currently they are sixth in the Spanish La Liga standings, destined for UEFA Europa League next season.

Bayern are reinvigorated since the appointment of Jupp Heynckes as their manager and are one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season. They have already finished their job in the Bundesliga, where they have a 17 point advantage over second place Schalke. They are also the favourites to win the German DFB Pokal. Could this be another treble winning season for Bayern? Considering that this is where Jupp Heynckes left off in 2012/13, it would be an amazing feat.

This is, along with Barcelona vs. Roma, the biggest mismatch of the 2017/18 Champions League quarter-finals. Bayern are the favourites to win away in Seville and also progress to the semis.

Bayern will likely play the upcoming match without Manuel Neuer, Kingsley Coman and James Rodriguez due to injury, while Sevilla will be missing Jesus Navas and Ever Banega (suspension).

The market values of the two clubs according to Transfermarkt website are:

Sevilla: €278m
Bayern: €642m

It is that time of the season when having two screens and eye lubricant handy is a necessity for football fans around the world. Juventus are playing vs. Real at the same time on Tuesday and then we have another double-header on Wednesday.

Looking forward to watching the in-form Bayern on Tuesday. Will Sevilla be able to stand against them in such a high profile match remains to be seen.

The return leg is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11th, 2018.

Enjoy the match everyone!
