49ers vs Seahawks Betting Odds for December 23rd
Published on December 23rd, 2012 3:59 pm ESTThe Seattle Seahawks will host the San Francisco 49ers in this week's edition of Sunday Night Football.
CenturyLink Field will be even more raucous than usual as the 9-5 Seahawks look to gain ground on the 10-3-1 49ers in the NFC West. The Seahawks control their own destiny when it comes to a wildcard spot, but they would obviously love to pass the 49ers and take the NFC West title. A win for the Hawks today and they move within striking distance of the 49ers - a win for the 49ers and they will clinch the division.
To say that this is a big game is an understatement. Seahawks' fans are extra pumped up for this game, as their team has exploded for over 100 points in their last two games. The 49ers, on the other hand, are looking to build off of the momentum that they gained after defeating the Patriots in a see-saw affair last week. The 49ers held off the hard-changing Patriots to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
There are a few things to watch in this game:
1. How will Colin Kaepernick fare in the hostile environment of CenturyLink Field? The Seahawks' defence has given their opposition fits this year, especially in the friendly confines of CenturyLink Field.
2. How will the 49ers gameplan against the dynamic duo of Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch? Defences, especially in the last few weeks, have been completely baffled by this duo. Add in the fact that Wilson is becoming a better passer with each passing week, and you have a Seahawks' offence that has been a nightmare to deal with.

The Over/Under line is currently set at 40 1/2 points:

Will the 49ers be able to head into CenturyLink Field and do what no other team has done this season, and that is beat the Seahawks on their home turf? Or will the Seahawks continue their momentum and move even closer to the 49ers in the NFC West?
