The season will be held in tournament format in one location in the state of Florida. Major League Soccer is coming back.

Earlier this week, teams began training again in anticipation of the league's return to action this summer.

On July 8th, the "MLS is Back Tournament" will officially kick off in Walt Disney World. This tournament will involve all of the league's 26 teams and will run until August 11th.

Here is the schedule for the tournament:

July 8th - Group Stage play begins
July 25th-28th - Round of 16
July 30th-August 1st - Quarterfinals
August 5th-6th - Semifinals
August 11th - Finals

In total, 54 matches will be played over a total of 26 matchdays.

The 26 teams will be split into six groups, with each Conference having three groups.

The top two teams from each group and the four third-place teams with the best Group Stage records will move on to the knockout stage.

Each Group Stage game will count towards the 2020 regular season standings, which is anticipated to resume sometime after the tournament concludes.

In addition to earning bonus money, the winning team will also earn a guaranteed spot in the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League tournament.
