Olympique Marseille and Red Bull Leipzig meet in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals on Thursday, April 12th, at one of the most beautiful football stadiums in Europe, the Stade Velodrome.

Leipzig have managed to keep a clean sheet in the first match at home and beat Marseille with the score of 1-0. The German international, Timo Werner, who is in great form at the moment, scored the winning goal late in the first half. Undefeated in their last seven games, including a home victory against Bayern Munich, Red Bull Leipzig are the favourites to advance to the semi-finals.

Olympique Marseille had great chances in the first leg match, but failed to score the important away goal. Dimitri Payet and his teammates will have to be extra cautious in the upcoming match, because if Leipzig score just once, the task of qualifying becomes a huge mountain to climb.

Thanks to the clean sheet, Red Bull Leipzig are the favourites to advance to the semis, despite being the underdogs in the second leg match. Out of the four games taking place on Thursday, this one is the closest, according to the odds. Atletico, Arsenal and Lazio are seen as huge favourites to go through to the next round, after the first leg results.

Good news for Marseille, after playing a heavily rotated side on Thursday, is that the team top scorer and most valuable player according to Transfermarkt, Florian Thauvin, is set to return from injury for the second leg.

It will be interesting to see how this one plays out. The 67,000 capacity Stade Velodrome will be packed to the last seat. Can Marseille produce a huge performance in front of their fans to beat a very difficult Leipzig side?

We shall find out soon. Enjoy the match everyone!
