Liverpool are the team to beat in the 2020/21 English season. Liverpool didn't just win the English Premier League title this season - they absolutely obliterated the league and are on track to post the best single EPL campaign of all time.

With that being said, despite the Reds' dominance this year, they are not considered to be the odds-on favourites to repeat as champions next season - that distinction belongs to Manchester City.

Given Liverpool's dominance this year, Man City will surely be utilizing all of their assets to make sure that the Reds don't repeat as champions.

After all, Man City was thoroughly embarrassed by Liverpool this season, just the same as everybody else in the league.

Repeating as champions isn't the easiest thing in the world to do - over the past 20 years, four teams have done it: Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester United again (they won three titles in a row from 2006-07 to 2008-09) and Manchester City.

Heading into next season, Liverpool will have a target on their backs. Every single team in the league will be attempting to get better, with the primary goal of taking down Liverpool and making life difficult for the defending champions.

As mentioned, Liverpool aren't the favourites to win the EPL title next season.
