49ers Now Five Point Favorites To Beat Falcons

When the line for the NFC Championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons was first made available earlier this week, the 49ers were listed as 4 point favorites.

Over the past 3-4 days, the line has moved in the 49ers direction as gamblers put the majority of the money on San Francisco to win. With just a few days to go before the NFC Championship game, the 49ers are now listed as a 5 point favorite, despite the fact that the Falcons finished with a 13-3 record during the regular season, and despite the fact that the game will be played in Atlanta.

One of the main reasons that gamblers have been betting the 49ers so heavily? Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick played the game of his life against the Packers last Saturday, combining for over 400 yards through the air and on the ground. The Packers had no clue what to do with Kaepernick as the 49ers' rookie QB ran for nearly 200 yards. The general consensus is that the Falcons won't be able to stop Kaepernick as well. The Falcons dealt with a similar type of QB in Russell Wilson last weekend, and were torched by the rookie QB during the second half of the game. Wilson very nearly led the Seahawks to a victory, despite the team being down 20 points at one point in the game.

Matt Ryan earned his first ever playoff victory last Sunday against the Seahawks, and I think that this will provide a big boost in confidence for "Matty Ice". Ryan and the Falcons will be going up against a very good 49ers' defines, so Ryan will need to post some big numbers in order to help the Falcons get to the Super Bowl.

The big battle in this game will be Colin Kaepernick vs the Falcons' defense. If the Falcons can keep Kaepernick in check, they have an excellent chance of winning this game. If Kaepernick runs wild again like he did against the Packers, the Falcons will have virtually no chance of winning.
