The English Premier League (EPL) - Player of the Year (POY) - Betting odds - Image. Given how Manchester City is crushing the English Premier League this season, there seems to be little doubt that the EPL's Player of the Year should also come from Man City.

Kevin De Bruyne, the 26 year-old midfielder who is fresh off of a contract extension that will see him stay with Man City until the 2023 season, is currently 1.33 to win the Player of the Year trophy at a leading sports book. De Bruyne has made things look easy this year, as he has guided the Man City offence to a blistering number of goals through his assists. In addition, De Bruyne has contributed with a number of timely goals and is a big reason why Man City could win Champions League, the EPL title and the FA Cup this season.

There are other people who are having very good seasons (Harry Kane looks posed to win the Golden Boot, for instance), though when you consider Man City's overall success this year, De Bruyne becomes the easy choice to win the Player of the Year trophy, barring some sort of late season meltdown.

Here is a list of the top 10 leading candidates to win the Player of the Year award:

Kevin De Bruyne, 1.33
Mohamed Salah, 5.00
Harry Kane, 7.00
David Silva, 13.00
Eden Hazard, 26.00
Raheem Sterling, 26.00
Sergio Aguero, 41.00

Can anybody catch De Bruyne at this point? The better question - can anybody catch Man City? If Man City wins the EPL title, there seems to be little chance of De Bruyne NOT winning the trophy, barring some sort of a catastrophic injury taking place.
