Jordan Spieth Currently Favoured To Win Event, Though Oosthuizen and Day Lurk Close Behind

Thanks to some undesirable weather, the final round of the 144th Open Championship has been pushed back to Monday.

Three players - Paul Dunne, Louis Oosthuizen and Jason Day - are tied for the tournament lead heading into the final day of play on Monday. Jordan Spieth, however, is lurking just one shot back at -11 after posting a very strong round on Sunday.

Despite the fact that Spieth sits one shot back, he is the favourite to win the tournament heading into the final round, thanks to his recent red-hot play which produced victories at both the US Open and Masters events.

Here are the current betting odds for the four players as of this moment:

Jordan Spieth, 3.50
Louis Oosthuizen, 4.33
Jason Day, 4.50
Paul Dunne, 17.00

Dunne, who is an amateur player, is seen by the bookmakers to likely fade on the final day of play. Can Dunne beat the likes of Spieth, Oosthuizen and Day on Monday? This seems unlikely.

Players like Padraig Harrington, Marc Leisman, Jordan Niebrugge and Sergio Garcia only sit a few shots back of the lead. Let's look at some of their odds to win the event:

Adam Scott, 19.00
Justin Rose, 23.00
Padraig Harrington, 23.00
Sergio Garcia, 26.00
Zach Johnson, 34.00

All of these players are just a few shots back - however, it seems unlikely that Spieth, Oosthuizen, Day AND Dunne will all stumble enough to allow the likes of Scott, Rose, Harrington, Garcia and Johnson back into the event.

Sunday was a pristine day at St. Andrew's and the scores were excellent. Will the weather remain nice on Monday, or will Mother Nature rear her head once again?

Monday is set to be filled with drama - I can't wait.
