Tottenham Sign Holland Sensation Vincent Janssen



The new Tottenham Hotspur player Vincent Janssen signs the camera.  July 12th, 2016The Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has made his second signing of the summer by bringing in the Eredivisie sensation, 22-year-old Vincent Janssen from AZ.

The young striker fetched an initial fee of £16.8m, plus the potential of performance bonuses up to a total of £18.5m. Janssen is a Spurs player until 2020, with an option to extend for additional 12 months.

Just a year ago Vincent Janssen transferred from Almere City, a second division club, to AZ for £340,000. He then became the 2015/16 season Eredivisie's best young player and the league's top scorer. Janssen scored a total of 27 goals for the club and earned them a spot in the Europa League. He has played a total of five times for Holland so far and scored three goals.

As Janssen said it himself after the contract was signed, seems like a great deal for all parties involved.

On top of a significant salary bump, Janssen gets to develop under Pochettino, while getting the valuable minutes in the English Premier League.

This is an awesome signing for Tottenham Hotspur, their second of the summer, after purchasing Victor Wanyama from Southampton for £11m.

For AZ, this is by far a record fee received for a player.
